England beat Argentina but frustrate fans ahead of next weekend

Surely Ashton must be dropped now? Wnigers are there to finish try scoring opportunities, and he failed two, first he was held up when he could've dived and secured the touchdown, and then he made a ridicoulous sideways dive, sliding off the field before scoring. Only the ref didn't notice it. At times it seems like he does't want to be there, throwing absurd passes and playing with no real passion or intent to put his body on the line. Just the sheer opposite from Fernandez Lobbe, Ashley-Cooper or de Villiers.

Oh and he really can't tackle. I'd drop him and have Wade, Yarde, Foden, Thompstone, Sharples, Strettle et al as wing options.

Of course this is just my opinion. But I'm impressed he keeps playing.

Brock James sensational reverse flick pass sets up try for Napolioni Nalaga

Technique-wise, probably Ellison's was better, as he stepped inside and changed the ball from hands while shifting his body to throw the pass, so it appeared to be more "intentional". However, there's no denying this is a beauty!

Rob Simmons yellow carded for off the ball shoulder on Felipe Contepomi

That's reckless. The yellow's fine as it wasn't high IMO!

The Wallabies run riot in Rosario with big win over Argentina

Yep good win for the wallabies. The argies came to this game with a lot of confidence and were a bit punished by it, something similar to what happened when the ABs went to La Plata last year. Anyway, it's impossible to deny their progress: they are in a big transition phase and were thrown into the world's most tough competition. They've got world class players like Figallo, Matera, Fernández Lobbe and Bosch, but are lacking in the back three, with Hernández never finding form in this tournament except for some great kicks and the two wingers (González Amorosino and Imhoff) spicy in attack but lacking when asked to tackle. Now with no Felipe Contepomi they need to find a proper replacement. Fernández will do for now.

On the wallabies side, what a discovery Fardy's been. He brings much needed mongrel to the pack and along with Hiiper, Gill, a fit again Higginbotham and Mowen the Wallabies do have some impressive options in the back row. The scrum was much improved and so was the line out. The back three is also firing and could yet benefit from O'Connor's absence. No 10 is well covered and the centres are the one position on doubt: Lealiifano does bring a wealth of composure at goal kicking and has a habit of making breaks, but his defence at times was doubtful. No 13 remains pretty much open.

Let's hope they give the ABs a run for their money in Dunedin.

Midweek Madness - Marland Yarde recovers from cramp to score a try

Side note: Yarde should be England's wing along with Wade and Foden at FB. Sharples as back up. Get rid of Ashton.

Michael Rhodes straight red card and suspension for stamp in face

Seeing a player who has just been carded walk over to the man he commited foul play against, shake his hand in apology and then leave the pitch without any further whining must be one of the top sights you can get on any pro sport.

Thanks rugby.

Isaia Tuifua's huge hit for Taranaki in the ITM Cup

Agree. I'd add to that that refs have to be careful not to ask the TMO to check every time they have a doubt regarding play. It's a useful resource but we don't want rugby to become some gridiron hybrid with stops every minute.
