Manu Tuilagi's huge hit on quick hands Dan Bowden

Why do English commentators always talk about getting arms around, or wrapping arms?
Neither of these things are in the rules, anywhere.
The law states that a player must make an attempt to grasp the other player.
Just an attempt, doesn't have to succeed, and only grasp the other player in some way.

Nothing to do with wrapping arms or getting arms around. English commentators need to learn the laws of the game or STFU.

It is not a forward pass, you don't know the rules mate, sorry.
The law explicitly states that the act of passing the ball is what matters. ie the player must throw the ball in a backwards direction.
Where the ball then ends up is totally irrelevant and has no bearing on it's legality.
This is due to the basic nature of physics whereby, if a ball is thrown backwards, but the player throwing it is moving forwards, the ball will then drift forwards thru the air even as it travels backwards in a diagonal direction. Agaibn, you need to understand basic physics to understand this.
But it doesn't matter where the ball goes strictly speaking. It's about the player throwing it backwards out of the hands. So yeah, anon, you don't really know what you're talking about.

Australia beat Samoa in classic final to win the Tokyo Sevens

Good work Aus. This sevens team is very, very young. Most of them are about 20-21 yrs old. It would not surprise me to see a couple of these players represent the Wallabies XV side one day. Shannon Walker looks like he could be a top class winger or center.

Rugby Club Plays of the Week 2012 - Round 5

Yeah Cipriani did pull his hamstring, came off injured a couple minutes after the try.
The 14 is Mark Gerrard, he used to be a Wallabies regular back in 2006-7, he actually broke his leg in the 2007 World Cup and his career went downhill. He came back from Japan where he was playing last year and has been playing very well for the Rebels ever since. The second player who he beats witht change of pace before offloading is Cummins.

Ben Youngs cited for striking London Irish's Jamie Gibson

I have really no problem with this.
Youngs was simply defending his teammate.
I would have done the same, any player worth a pinch of salt would have.

Penalty is fine, anything ore is over the top. I wouldn't personally even suspend him, though I realise my views are a little old school. But say a one week ban, I could understand that I guess, given the way the game has gone (ie it's become incredibly soft). Anything more than that is ridiculous and simply not rugby.

Danny Cipriani's great try and celebration against the Western Force

Agreed Tanora.
If he wants to do a stupid dance and have a laugh, fine. He's the one who trains hard, gets bashed and scores the tries. If he wants to celebrate a bit, go for it.

Very judgmental mate, and illogical.
The idea that having new kits and more entertaining rugby would result in crowd violence is ridiculous.

Danny Cipriani's great try and celebration against the Western Force

One thing about that, is that many of those "new" franchises are based on very old teams. They just added a bit of an extra title to the name.
E.g. the Stormers are Western Province, been around since the 1800s. The Blues are Auckland, have been around for a similar period of time, etc.

But again, it's all irrelevant in my opinion. These guys aren't celebrating because they want to boost ad revenue or something weird like that, they are just spontaneously exhibiting their joy at having scored.
You could see guys doing these celebrations in a local club game. No one would care. We just aren't as traditional. We have a more light hearted approach to these things.

Dean Mumm's huge hand-off on the Sharks' Marcel Coetzee

Yeah and he had a great game as well. He scored a great try off a maul, just shrugged off Wycliffe Palu, who is a beast himself.
