CJ Stander scores 80m try vs Glasgow on home debut for Munster

I don't like the idea of "outsiders" taking up positions in a national team, however I think there are certain exceptions and what you describe (the emotional tie) is an exception.

I would prefer it if the buck stopped with the Grandparents... If you have a Grandad from NZ, a dad from Aus, a Grandma from SA, a mum from Canada, another Grandad from somewhere in Europe, and the other Grandma from Japan, and then you're born in Mongolia, then lucky you, you get a big list to choose from, however if you're a "Paddy" through and through, then sadly it's tough luck. But I could accept some sort of 5 year residency where a player has honestly committed themselves to a country and it is not just down to being offered a large salary and not being good enough to play for your own country of birth...

Chris Hala'ufia suspended for five weeks after straight red card

HAAAAH, Says a lot really... How can the panel one minute feel it's worth FIVE weeks, then the next its not worth anything...

This says that either the panel think that he was WRONGFULLY carded or that a red card was sufficient enough punishment. But to go from 5 weeks to nothing is pathetic.

...but then why am I so surprised?

All Black Adam Thomson's boot on Alasdair Strokosch's head

I guess a slow game nowadays suits the old fat bastards in the front row, gives them time to have a breather. Not like the days when the ball used to come out fairly quickly, when players decided lying on the ground in the way or ON the ball was not a good idea... Least it made it painful if they decided cheating was a good idea.

England upset the All Blacks with famous win at Twickenham

Why not, sensible play is something NZ do ALL the time. It is something "we" as fans often label as cynical when it comes to foul play, i.e. do it in anywhere BUT your own 22 and the referee will most likely forget about it, and of course there is the common sense sort of play like not committing every man you have to a ruck that is well and truly lost.

If you say so browner. Although I suggest you practice your comprehension again, I said it was risky due to the ways it is over policed, not due to the risks involved (of which there are none)...

After re-watching it again, do I hear correctly when the referee says "judging on the outcome only"... as if he didn't really see the full incident?

Dan, he couldn't go upstairs, at about the 0:52 mark we see the player with arms in the air and the referee turns and says "we don't have upstairs" so whether there was no TMO or whether the referee forgot about in game TMO, I don't know...
