The British and Irish Lions win the first Test as Kurtley Beale misses late penalties

What possible reason would fans of the *winning* team have to unfairly criticise the referee's performance? How can you, as a neutral, honestly say that you understood or agreed with all of his breakdown decisions? It was clearly a matter of interpretation, but unfortunately Pollock's interpretation favoured the southern hemisphere team.

TJ Perenara makes big hit then later gets punched in the face by Liam Messam

That kind of cheeky 'punch' can easily provoke a big scrap and get opposing players sent off for retaliating. That said the 9 getting involved in the first place probably provoked Messam so all's fair really.

The biggest disgrace is wingers from both sides going down that bloody easily...

Josh Matavesi banned for brutal high tackle on Neil De Kock

This game was not televised. You can hear someone on the ref's mic mention that there's no video during the clip. This is one of the strongest arguments against giving TMOs more powers: not all games actually have them

He was obviously being sarcastic...

Toulon turn it on at home with thrashing of Sale Sharks

Steffon Armitage is involved in practically every play in every Toulon highlight reel I see. What does the man have to do to get into the England squad?!

Italy vs Australia - Live stream

As far as I can tell nobody in the UK is showing this game, yet RD still cannot stream it here. It will be a licensing issue, but a more ridiculous one: 'if we aren't showing it no one else can'

No problem with kicking the ball out, but throwing or hitting it is illegal

Clermont snatch dramatic 50th consecutive Stade Marcel Michelin victory

Just checked the IRB Laws site:

10.2 UNFAIR PLAY

(c) Throwing into touch. A player must not intentionally knock, place, push or throw the ball with his arm or hand into touch, touch-in-goal, or over the dead ball line.
Sanction: Penalty kick on the 15-metre line if the offence is between the 15-metre line and the touchline...

Samoa stun Wales with impressive win at the Millennium Stadium

Except when England were consistently penalised by Poite against Australia yesterday?

Islanders are always complaining in the comments here about how they are treated unfairly because refs expect them to tackle dangerously and therefore treat them more harshly, so I don't see how you can claim they get away with *more* foul play... Teams like Samoa and Fiji get far more cards for dangerous tackles than any other teams: Fiji had two yellows for high and late tackles against Scotland yesterday.
