Fair enough. I suppose they were reckless tackles and were dangerous but I still feel that a red is a harsh decision. But then again I've always been against the red cards and like to see them as little as possible.
To the letter of the law I can see that these could be red but I feel a yellow card would have been good enough. Maybe even give a yellow and then warn both sides that any more would result in a red.
Sorry but those are two shocking decisions by the ref. Both yellow I could understand but the first one, there's nothing wrong with the tackle it's just late. And the second one was hardly dangerous. Late and no arms. We see yellow and nothing more for those which happen fairly often. USA can feel very hard done by with those decisions and can feel very pleased that they only conceded ten points throughout the whole of both red card periods.
Right call in my opinion. In real time it didn't look like anything at all. I think Wayne Barnes has it right. That is was beyond the horizontal but not dangerous. He's also clearly taken into account the emotion that all players will be feeling and understands there will be a little extra bite in some of these hits. Fair call and no ban seems correct.
@Rugbydump If possible, could you get Ashley Beck's try too. Preferably with the whole build up starting from the kickoff to the second half. I thought the Ospreys showed great composure to score that one.
Lol. Now the truth comes out. Also though, considering the match, it was cool as well. Now had this been the RWC final, I would have been screaming at him to kick.
I agree. It is frustrating when a team mate runs around like that but as a spectacle (especially when you aren't playing with the guy) its great to see. Also, in fairness, he had few other options as he was going back to pick it up.

Chris Ashton's huge hit on Gio Aplon and Ryan Kankowski's on Thomas Waldrom
I remember seeing Ashton's tackle and thinking that I wasn't going to see a bigger tackle in the game.
I was proved very wrong. Great stuff Ryan.

Carl Hayman suspended for four weeks for Zee Ngwenya spear tackle
Yeah it did look worse with the drop. Still just a clumsy challenge rather than any malicious intent.

I feel yellow was fair as it was reasonably clumsy. No way a red though. Although as a Welshman, I'm very against red cards after the RWC.
