Alafoti Faosiliva's huge hit, charge, and try against Fiji in London

ALAFOTI THE DUMPTRUCK!

Loved seeing this guy on every 7s highlight reel this season. Really hope Samoa can get some groundbreaking wins in the next set of international matches. It's about time the balance of power was readdressed (although it still looks to sit heavily in the southern hemisphere...)!

Rugby Club Plays of the Week 2012 - Round 10

The try was given and in real time it looked like a standard dive finish where the ball bounces off after legitimate grounding... it's just that in the slow-mo replays everyone can see he's dived too early!

Can hardly blame the ref and touchies for not keeping up after Habana races away with an interception though!

Shane Williams hanging up his boots - A farewell documentary

I've been waiting all day to be able to take the time to sit down and watch this, and I'm not disappointed. Brilliantly put together piece that probably could have been 10x longer and still enjoyable!

The only sad thing about stories like his that are so good is that you wonder if you'll ever see the likes of Shane again in the near future of rugby... But I'll try not to be too pessimistic and just enjoy the rugby on offer at the moment!

Thanks, RD, for the post.

Super Rugby 2012 Profiles - The Australian teams

Agree with TGM, cracking summary again. Pretorius is definitely who I'll be keeping my eye on, he was a real livewire in last year's surprise package - the Cheetahs - and had an uncanny knack of being in the right place to score the try. So if I'm allowed to say it, I think he might be an upgrade on Burgess...

Otherwise the Brumbies look dire, and the Force have lost their major point scorers. I'll be shocked if the Rebels can change into a title-challenging team in one off-season and the Waratahs could be a good dark horse for this year. Reds will have a tough time defending their title. But we won't know the truth until it all unfolds! Can't wait.

Thanks again RD & Tony, look forward to the Super Rugby coverage.

Bath and Gloucester get to know one another in mass brawl at the Rec

To be brutally honest I think the only way to allow the game to carry on afterwards is to make sure that both sides are punished evenly. In the heat of the moment both sides are probably gonna feel "well he started it" (unless it's a blatantly obvious case of ABH), so if the ref were bold enough to punish more from one team that would probably lead to more altercations down the road.
In general I'm all for just showing them the cheese and getting on with the game after a scuffle, but just so long as we don't see it every week from the same players!

Highlights from Round Three of the Anglo-Welsh Cup

Bring back the french coverage! Haha, although the highlights aren't helped by showing every single kick at goal...

Keep up the variety RD, hoping to see super rugby soon too!

Aled Brew's huge hit on Perpignan's David Mele

Classy clean hit there. For ref: if it's a maul that's stopped and it was directly after a caught kick then it remains his ball. However, in this case it's a standard ruck as the tackled player goes to ground (hard!) and as the dragons are going forwards they get the ball when it becomes unplayable. Capiche?
