I was there, was great! The wasps backrow were mighty, completely outplayed the quins and that messed up their attacking play. It also meant that they had lots of opportunities to counter and wade was no match for lowe (he is a centre after all). I think wasps did tire after the hour, and the match really changed when haskell and masi (he looks like a good transfer) had come off and quins brought in chisholm and guest. »
What an offload! Conrad Smith is just class, everyone goes on about depth in positions but he's the one that keeps that backline ticking over and you won't be finding a replacement for him any time soon. His decision making in defence and attack is so consistently good and I feel its a great shame he's so under appreciated. »
Again like Robshaw and Warburton I think they are very different, Lydiate is deceptively good at the breakdown and he's actually quite mobile and I can't remember him missing a tackle. I think he offers a lot when things are tight and hes another player thats always doing the simple stuff well. He bossed the French in the 6N and they haven't got a half bad back row.. »
Interesting stats, what sort of fascinates me is how you never really notice Robshaw unless you properly watch him. I remember when he first hit the scene for Quins thinking he doesn't really do much but noticing just a general solidity to him. You sort of barely notice him but if you watch him he is always there doing the basics very well, all of the time. »
I try and avoid these debates because it's a bit of a chicken or egg argument. But as good as DC is and even if I personally think he's probably the best 10, he's never really been at the top of his game in world cups and pulled out a stand out performance. »
