Midweek Madness - Damien Traille takes a dive and gets player sinbinned

A yellow would be a bit harsh unless there had been previous related infringements and they'd been warned about it. I could see that though if it was preventing a sure score or something and seen as cynical. Not sure of the context in this game though, and whether or not it warranted that on the basis of being within the 10 meters.

As far as Traille, disgraceful, and hopefully that's well remembered by any number of teams and he gets a nice hard hit to give him first hand experience of a situation that might warrant the look he had on his face.

Montage of Amazing Lions Test series in Australia, plus WIN a 2013 Lions jersey

For better, or worse, or fun:
#1 North and Falau trading tries
#2 North carrying Falau after his tackle attempt
#3 Beale's slip (and their overall kicking that game)

The Force upset the Crusaders with big defence amidst crowd control problems

Sounds to me like the Crusaders shouldn't be blaming the security, they should be blaming their fans and being unable to breach the Force's defence.

Paul O'Connell knocks out Dave Kearney with clumsy kick to the head

Deliberate? Probably not. Dangerous? Definitely yes. I'd say he's luck to have escaped further discipline at this point considering that has to be an area just like tip tackles where even if it isn't intended, you have to think of player safety first and your own team's advantage second. The ball being moved just prior to kicking him doesn't help his case either, as it moves from right beside the head to further away and it should have made him more mindful of the danger.

Step over and ruck (I'm sure he knows how to do that as a forward) should be his first instinct, not kick a ball close to a player's head.

Bakkies Botha injures Marcos Ayerza with big charge towards tryline

Certainly nothing like the 'hurdle' he described. Perhaps another camera angle would reveal a different story (much the same as the try) but I can't even see that being so different to suggest he jumped or even ran with overly high knees into the tackle.

No try, no citing, all the right calls.

Is Carlin Isles the world's fastest rugby player?

While no rugby players starts off with all the skills, those same players also don't start in the national 7's team weeks after they start playing. You can teach the skills, and there's no substitute for pace (which he has in spades, aces, diamonds and hearts), but I'd generally consider more development for a player before he earns his first cap.

Having said that, if he has enough skill to deserve it (beyond his pace) after those 12 weeks of training, good on him.

Wales score bizarre try with thirteen man lineout against the All Blacks

Canada tried it against the Maori on Friday, but failed to catch the ball so it didn't come off quite as well as it did for Wales.

James Haskell big hit knocks out lock Alistair Hargreaves

Hardly a good tackle from a technical standpoint, especially when you consider a lot of forwards will lower their shoulder into a hit in close. I don't know if I'd go for a penalty on the initial reaction, but I could see the reasoning for it when you get to see Haskell's right arm swinging in over and over in the slo-mo. It really doesn't look like he wanted to use that arm to wrap in the tackle, but rather make a big impact.
