Midweek Madness - The human hurdle attempt

Posting from the future to say that now we have Aussie winger Nick Cummins sporting this fantastic hairdo and he shouldn't shave it for love or money

The Springboks outmuscle Wales at the Millennium Stadium

This has been the year of referee impact on matches. More often than not somebody spends some time in the bin, it's really getting a bit tiring.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen proud after tense win over Springboks

Doubt it's a Bok supporter, I don't know a single Saffa who would use the word "parity"

The Springboks claim convincing win over the Wallabies in Cape Town

Fantastic 2nd try... just goes to show that the Springboks can run if they want to, pity they don't explore this option more often.

Bismarck Du Plessis controversially yellow carded for huge hit on Dan Carter

The first decision is without doubt incorrect. The second in my opinion is a fend gone wrong, du Plessis is stationary when the contact occurs and you can see from his face that he was bracing himself for the hit. I guess a yellow isn't out of the question, but a penalty would probably be more deserving of the offence.

Ben Tameifuna and Jamie Mackintosh banned for old school rucking

It's almost as if the citing commission want to deter actions that could lead to serious injury.... What is happening to the game we love??

Midweek Madness - James So'oialo and the odd shaped balls

"Further there was no attempt to weaken the evidence given by Strauss who himself accepted that there was probably no malicious intention." Was rather sporting of Strauss to not make a big deal of it afterwards, even though he looked a bit ruffled directly afterwards...

Springboks beat Samoa to win the Quad Series as Habana reaches milestone

Don't know if you watched the game but the Springboks were very much in control of the match. Stronger set piece, better out wide and Samoa didn't have an answer for their driving maul. Samoa were starting to lose their composure at around the time of the card due to frustration, so I think for them to have pulled something out of the bag would have been somewhat against the way things were going. Very neat lineout try though...
