The Springboks claim convincing win over the Wallabies in Cape Town

Agreed. Does anyone think that Hooper could have caused Etzebeth to flip like that on his own? No lifting, no intent. It was entirely on Etzebeth that he came down out of control.

Through the Eyes of an All Black - Rugby Championship catch up with Nick Evans

Nick is solid, but I think both him and the ABs are happy where they're at. The ABs have solid depth at 10, not sure he would give them anything that they don't already have with Cruden and Barrett.

Nick was unfortunate to be understudy to Dan Carter when Carter was a world-beater and not as injury prone as he has been lately. Certainly understand him taking other opportunities and he's made the most of it.

Matthew Morgan scores 90m solo effort for Ospreys against Edinburgh

Impressive. And nearly as impressed with Walker closing the gap at the end, really moves for a big guy.

Rory Kockott misses long range penalty but tries again with dropgoal

Doesn't the Olympics require citizenship to represent your country? Maybe it's different from sport to sport, but I don't think you can represent there without being a natural-born or naturalized citizen.

Seems like the way it should be for rugby, though the "grow the game globally" effort is surely going to water it down as lower- and mid-tier nations can become more competitive quicker by having lax rules about who can represent them.

NZ gives contracts to PI "kids"? What, like 3 year olds that move there with their parents? Examples?

The Springboks demolish Argentina in Soweto try-fest

Couple comments...

Argies didn't seem to contest the breakdown much. Springboks really looked like they were getting quick ball and being clinical with it. Add to that their driving mauls and it's not a surprise that Los Pumas couldn't hang with them.

Du Preez has gotten a bit thin on top since the last time I saw him!

For me, this is the first rugby match where the vuvuzelas were a major distraction/annoyance. Perhaps I just haven't noticed before? Is it a Soweto thing more than the rest of the country? Would be disappointed if those things became standard stadium fare for SA rugby.

Plays of the Week - The Lions Series Awards

Your amazing statistic was that there wasn't a pass between the center pairing. You're suggesting that had there been better backline cohesion that the Lions would have scored more.

So now you want to focus on tackles. Fair enough. I never said Davies played a perfect game. I'm just saying that you're trying to prove a negative. There's no way to know and it's just ridiculous to keep bleating on about it. We all know plenty of players that have had a cracker in one test, then go totally off the rails in the next. BOD could have been great and could have been average or poor, who knows? Tired of talking about it.
