James O'Connor scored right from a restart in 2010 when Bryan Habana failed to catch the ball. However that wasn't the opening kick off, it was a restart from a previous score. Yes it was probably quicker from the time the ball was kicked to being touched down, however it was mid match; hence not being the fastest try of all time.
Can't believe Davies only got a yellow for that tackle. Straight red, nothing else.
As for Ferris; I've seen that type of tackle made every game. Heck I've made that tackle several times and I've never seen it get penalized, let alone carded. Not sure what Barnes was thinking to be honest.
Johndoes, that was Ryan Lamb who misses the ankle tap. Foden is the one who tackled him into touch before taking the quick throw.
Agreed with Zavala. Clearly a forward pass on that try.
No reason to dislodge Foden. Quins vs Saints was massive in terms of seeing the fullbacks play against each other and Foden definitely came off looking better. Also gave a man of the match masterclass vs Scarlets. Can't think of a game internationally which finished with pundits and fans a like saying "eek... Foden really wasn't up to it today. He was the weak link in the game". He has scored a few important tries internationally too.
England are blessed in that they have a fullback as good as Brown in reserve in case things were to go wrong with Foden. With Alex Goode coming on well and Ben Ransom being strong in the U20s last year, England can say they have depth at fullback. Bet they wish they could say the same of their back row...
Agree with Stroudos on many things. Hodgson and Barritt I feel aren't really England material going forward, but given Flood's injury and the youth of the likes of George Ford, Hodgson is the only option at fly. They might as well make him comfortable by giving him Barritt inside.
Farrell has balls of steel though. Wouldn't mind having him kick so vital penalties at the end of the game.
As for the commentary; French is perfect. I understand the general idea of what they are saying, but it is so much better than English commentary simply because if I just switch off my brain I don't have to understand any. Probably the only English language commentator I can handle is Hugh Bladen. The rest come across so one eyed that in the world cup despite having English commentary available on TV I would go online and look for Japanese commentary so I could focus on the game without being influenced by the poor commentary.
Can't say I have sympathy for Rougerie. He was clutching his eye as he left that scuffle which I just find ironic given the world cup... Still don't see how people can hate on people like Botha our Hartley, admittedly they are goons and play the game in an annoying fashion, when there are eye gouging/hair pulling bastards being defended by fans (Rougerie, Ashton). Don't understand

Kicking from 50m... not shabby. Italy could've used his goal kicking against England.

Munster and Simon Zebo dispatch Northampton Saints
Zebo also reminds me a lot of Chris Ashton. Lots of pace, knows where to be and at the right time too.
