Sebastien Chabal knocks out Marc Giraud with big right hook

I hate it when people say things like "it is part of the game whether you like it or not" in defence of something that is unquestionably negative. Fighting and dangerous tackles were a part of our game, just as doping was a part of cycling, but at some stage some one in both sports decided that things had to change and it is for the better that they did. Don't just ignore it because it will be hard to change

Newcastle's Richard Mayhew crunches Harlequins' Sam Smith

I find the posturing particularly embarrassing because IMO it was actually a technically pretty poor tackle. He only came out on top because of the weight difference in his favour. Had Smith been the same size or bigger I think Mayhew's back would have folded and he would have been embarrassingly bumped.

Nick 'Honey Badger' Cummins interviews Wallaby players after Wales win

Whatever, I'll do my best not to share my opinions any more so that I don't annoy you.

Ha, his eye brow is weird, and that alone makes it difficult for me to take him seriously. At least Nonu's hair is done in a style, it is not a style that would suit a lot of people, but there is a plan going on, where as Cummins is just a mess. This is no way detracts from my rating of these two as rugby players, I just think that if I were Australian I might be a bit annoyed that he shows up to represent his country looking like dog.
God I sound old

There is plenty of variety in between jarheads and whatever that is.
I just find it difficult to take him seriously as a player or an athlete looking the way he does.

Sonny Bill Williams on Rugby League vs Rugby Union and life in general

So I did hear it right? He's become a muslim? That caught me a little off guard. But whatever keeps him happy enough to keep playing at that rediculous standard.

I like watching Cummins play, but he seriously needs to sort his hair out. Just be normal.

Also, Genia looked like a little child hugging Folau

Courtney Lawes returns to Premiership with huge tackle on Phil Godman

I think there is a relentless aggression there, but the worst thing you can say about any of his tackles is that they are poorly timed/slightly (if at all) late. There is never a case of a swinging arm, or a shoulder charge or high shots. He hits things, and he hits them hard and as often as he can.
I think he is the perfect illustration of the difference between aggressive physicality and the types of dangerous or cynical play that people often defend with 'it's a passionate contact sport'.

Wallabies end tour on a high with victory over Wales in Cardiff

I like barnes because he is confident and goes with what he believes is right everytime and doesn't bottle the big calls. But, I cannot understand why you would rush into a decision that is that marginal and important without waiting 4 or 5 seconds for confirmation from the guy sat inches away from the monitors.

I have to say I disagree a bit, I like when Wales are losing, but I prefer it more when referees get called out on idiotic decisions because I think it is the only way that they will improve. The difference for me between this and the Aus v Eng match is that the ref and touchie were 50 metres away from Brown when he was in touch, and so a mistake like that can be understood, and the blocking on Moore was probably illegal, but falls firmly into the category of debatable. But, in that instance the ref asked the TMO and the TMO looked at the replays and gave his judgement. What I can't understand is for Barnes to ask the TMO for his opinion, and then cut him off before having heard it. We will never know what the TMO was going to give, and it could have had a huge impact.
