Ireland start campaign with comfortable win over Scotland

The cover tackling and workrate in defence to stop Heaslip and Sexton from scoring was outstanding, I didn't see the game live so haven't seen any more analysis of that break that what is above, but Sexton's pass looks suspect to me.

France snatch victory from England in Six Nations thriller in Paris

I'm furious that Goode fell for the dummy at the end, I think that basic error in fullback play could well have cost us the game.

I know what you mean about Fickou starting, but I think using basterroud (sorry for the spelling again) as a bludgeon for 60 minutes to tire out the defence before bringing in the whippet is a good idea. The commentators remarked as Fickou was coming on about how with English players being knackered and suffering cramps the change from wrecking ball to evasive running might be deadly. And it was.

I hope we do, and I look forward to seeing our pack let loose on a team that doesn't have the sheer size that France were able to field because I think that we could be quite destructive if we play like that against normal sized humans

Sarzesky (sorry for the spelling) stayed on as well, and he outpaced Launchberry to give Ficou a chance on the outside

Yer but Danny Care is an arrogant, self-centred shit, he doesn't get his name in print as much if he lets Farrell do the job.

Wales get past defiant Italy in Six Nations opener in Cardiff

That pass was comical. I'm glad it wasn't give because it was a good try and kicked some life into the game for us neutrals. But it was still clearly forward. I don't really agree with this new 'direction of the hands' malarky, I think it leads to some very dubious results.

Jacques Burger's tackling masterclass on Rugby Tonight

Seems like a great player to me, but I would put Alesana Tuilagi at the top of that list, I think he was massively influential for those bastard tigers for almost a decade.

Jacques Burger's tackling masterclass on Rugby Tonight

For me the key bits in that were the parts that they didn't really dwell on too much; making your contact point on and around the ball, and planning how you'll get back to your feet as you make the tackle. It seems basic, but it can make a huge difference

I'd rather watch the grass being cut than Italy v Scotland
