Courtney Lawes lays into another unsuspecting flyhalf, this time Jules Plisson

core issue it seems is actually the placement of the player onto the ground, not the tackle. Tackle looks worse in slo mo, but is touch and go.
Placement is more an issue as players have a duty to place the player properly after a tackle. I know that sounds weird, but that's part of what is, technically, supposed to happen. So even if Lawes didn't deliberately tip him, the momentum of the tackle caused a tip. So, I reckon lawes had a duty to try to prevent the head from going down first. What seems to have happened is that lawes didn't do that, and may have done the opposite. He may have actually driven it a bit. Look at where the head and feet are at the very end.
Owens seems to have seen the tackle and timing and called it as fine - that's fine - but did he watch it through to the end? Possibly not - he had a game to watch!
Lawes may end up getting a ban from the citing comm for that bit at the end.

France ease to comfortable victory over Italy at wet Stadio Olimpico

u were lucky FelipeG. It was awful. I remember seeing 19 handling errors for one team, 17 for the other popping up on the screen at one stage....that doesn't include really crap kicks obviously (eg out on the fulls).

Appalling match, sucked the life out of me as I endured it. Probably fell asleep straight afterwards...

France could be so good, but aren't (allowed be)....

Such a pity.

The Wraparound from Rugby HQ - Week 1

he needs to be standing up - makes a big difference (eg many of the US shock jock radio presenters stand in the studio, they don't sit!)

Slade and Wade score as England Saxons defeat Irish Wolfhounds in Cork

basically, Rugbydump, most people want to see Sean O Brien tearing into Chris Ashton if you could oblige, that would be 100% fantastic!

Test Rugby Results - November 15th weekend

bokshark I'm making my suggestion based on actual results of actual matches. Them be different to the last time or the time before for de Autumn internationals, from memory, when it seemed like all the top 3 SH teams won everything...and in gen, this time so far, many of the matches were closer than expected (eg Scotland and NZ) and an interesting number were close in general (eg Italy, Wales Romania) maybe things are, broadly speaking, leveling out a bit.

SH are still to the fore thou I would say.

The mull cover the other fairly obvious point is a game played in all conditions, and it may be v wet next October in eh Wales and England!

Test Rugby Results - November 15th weekend

Interesting how tight a lot of these matches are eh? Only the Tonga and to an extent Canada matches weren't...

also with Irl (last week) and Fra a little more balance between NH and SH...

all augers well for the world cup I reckon....
