Lwazi Mvovo hits the turbos for a great try against the Brumbies

Watched this match "unlive" today -a few days after the fact- on Canal+ (French private channel), I had just managed to avoid Rugbydump or other rugby channel updates on the match ... so managed to watch it in a "pseudo-live" context today.
So I must say that this try just came out of nowhere!!! Very impressive to watch live!!
But on the other hand, because of strangely inadequate behavior from both teams on the field, I am now utterly convinced that Super rugby is a "doesn't really matter if we lose" version of Heinekun Cup rugby. Don't mean to sound NH-bitter by saying this! But at some point the Sharks, or the Brumbies, however unstoppable, seemed to not really care whether they won ... no relegation, hmmm?

Johan Goosen finishes classic Cheetahs try vs the Crusaders

Awesome try! No one gets carried away, nice control. The Crusader's n°21 is a bit too casual in the final moments, but then again, he would have been running for 90m by that time.

This week I also enjoyed one of Stade Français' tries against Agen (previous weekend), I found this horrible-quality video of it, after the lineup at 0.34 secs:

George North beats Alex Cuthbert to set up great Scarlets try

About great tries, we should have a look at the Stade Français' match against Agen last week. Score in the fifties, amazing tries (one in particular with heavy ball-handling).

George North beats Alex Cuthbert to set up great Scarlets try

Gatland has sure added an SH touch to Welsh rugby, now everyone in the team is over 100kg (apart from Halfpenny), and this of course includes wingers North and Cuthbert, who albeit talented, also depend on their team to score tries (unless they exchange favours to do so, as in this video here where Cuthbert lets North through). The problem with heavy wingers is that they often get injured at some early point, and after that it's all downhill. I hope North will be ok, he's got many good years ahead of him, but I'm an optimist with experience (a pessimist).

Danny Cipriani's great try and celebration against the Western Force

He doesn't make the first tackle, he doesn't do the following drive forward, he doesn't stabilize the ensuing ruck, he doesn't act as scrum-half and choose that particular side at the ensuing ruck, so why can't the players who did all of that also deserve as much credit? He scored a try, a very fine try in fact, good on him. But as someone else pointed out below, that is exactly what's expected of him. I don't mind celebrations that are adrenaline explosions (like throwing the ball in the air while growling), but doing some dance in front of the cameras: that's too much for my taste - I could get plenty of that on MTV (if I ever watched it).

Danny Cipriani's great try and celebration against the Western Force

That got me laughing!!
But I don't know much about a prop trying a try, I'm a front-rower and I never score at my amateur level of rugby (I always find a faster runner to hand the ball to - who'll generally mess things up with a ridiculous knock-on). I mean I never score in matches, only do so at training.
But I'll probably sing "The Internationale" on one foot if I manage to score one day, because apparently it's alright to do so. I'm sure the opposing teams will find it alright, hell rugby is all about showing off individually, like football, isn't it?

Danny Cipriani's great try and celebration against the Western Force

Great try, scored after a few people handled the ball and drove it upfield. Taking individual credit for the result of a collective effort (by doing a little dance) is something I don't enjoy much ... definitely on par with Ashton's swan dive.

Wales win Grand Slam after tense battle with France in Cardiff

On the current state of affairs, game style makes it that:
- Ireland is the new Scotland
- England is the new Wales
- France is the new England
- Wales is the new France
- Scotland is the new Italy
- Italy is the new Ireland

Keven Mealamu struck with bottle after Bulls vs Blues game

Hadn't noticed the first time around that after the woman blurbs some words out, the Bulls medic picks his stuff up, turns around, looks at her, and taps his temple to imply that she's insane.

Keven Mealamu struck with bottle after Bulls vs Blues game

Well I'rm just a simple country lad that dern't know much about dem literature and stuff, and although I'm not a Mealamu fan (at times he manages to land a cheap shop here and there in rucks) I simply cannot accept that a fan, that any fan, enter the pitch for any reason other than showing his or her genitals (I'm quoting stroudos a few months back on this one).
