Friday Funnies - Physio halts Zebre attack with tackle on own player

BY Grant Constable  ·  Friday Jan 18, 2013

With immediate injury treatment a priority in the days of professional rugby, it’s now commonplace to see physios sprint onto the field whenever a player looks like he may be in trouble.

This was the case when Ospreys played Zebre in the Rabodirect PRO12 a few weeks back, but unfortunately the Italian side’s physio ended up affecting play, taking out one of his own players with a two-footed tackle as the speedy winger broke away from the defence.

Zebre weren’t able to capitalise on the open space, and Ospreys won the game 16-15.
