Nicky Robinson caps a great debut with a try against Bath

The Guinness Premiership got underway in England yesterday, with Gloucester producing a clinical display in their West Country derby to beat Bath 24-5.

Welsh flyhalf Nicky Robinson was outstanding on the day as he looks to be one of the smartest signings yet in the Premiership juggling of players thats gone on.

It was a league debut that he capped with a late breakaway try, fittingly for the player who was the star performer of the day, scoring 14 points in total.
“Nicky has got a reputation for being a calm and tactically aware player. He has been unlucky with Wales.
“I thought he controlled the game well. On a percentage basis, I thought he was outstanding, said Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath.

The 27 year old moved across from Cardiff Blues, and after yesterdays performance, gained the respect and admiration of the Shed-Heads with his master-class showing.

James Simpson-Daniel also gave the locals something to cheer about, as he scored two tries against Bath, who had a troubled off season that was shrouded in controversy.
