On Tuesday, Springbok legend Percy Montgomery showed off his skills on the golf course with a feat that not many can claim to have achieved.
Montgomery hit a hole-in-one on the 11th at the beautiful Pezula Golf Course in Knysna, the jewel of the world-famous Garden Route, demonstrating his unmistakable sporting prowess.

A keen sportsman, the former fullback often enjoys himself on the golf course as he soaks in the South African sun.
When he’s not aiming for a hole-in-one, the 50-year-old also enjoys time at the beach and, of course, at various rugby events with friends and family. He also keeps himself heavily active in the gym, as well as patching in the odd rugby game of his own – see the SA Rugby Legends tour in 2023.
Montgomery has also been involved in various business ventures in his retirement, including the 2021 launch of his alcohol brand, El Centurion 102, for which he has involved many former rugby stars.
Although it’s been many years since he set his boots down for the final time in professional rugby, most will still remember the flowing blonde locks, attacking flair and pinpoint kicking that made the Springbok star such a revered player.
The first Springbok to reach 100 caps, and the top-ever points scorer at the time of his retirement, Montgomery had multiple team accolades to back up his individual brilliance – including South Africa’s famous 2007 World Cup win.
A true great of the game.
