The Premiership Women’s Rugby saw two shock results in round 15 which has kept fans on the edge of their seats for the top four race.
Trailfinders played Bristol Bears to open the round and the game was an enthralling one.
It ended with the London side pipping the west country club 39-38 and if their rivals came away with wins in the round it would have made the task of reaching the semi final spots an almost impossible task.
Saracens, Harlequins, Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester-Hartpury are the other clubs vying for a top four spot.
Sarries and Quins battled against one another with Saracens coming out 33-10 winners to end Quins winning streak.
Gloucester-Hartpury had a bye week so had no affect but Exeter’s result has kept Bristol in the top four race.
In adverse weather conditions, Exeter hosted Sale Sharks at Sandy Park. The northern club recorded their first win of the season in a 12-7 victory.
The loss for fourth-place Exeter means Bristol are still chasing their tails as they are just one point behind their rivals.
Exeter and Bristol have to play each other again which could be the difference in the battle for a semi-final spot.
Exeter also have to play Harlequins, Saracens and Leicester Tigers.
Bristol, meanwhile, also have to go up against Loughborough Lightning and Harlequins.
The regular season finishes on 21 February with all of the games in the last round starting at the same time to add to the excitement.
Competition in the league has grown year-on-year and fans and organisers will be hoping more upsets occur throughout the league to make the battle even closer next season.
The start of the next campaign is delayed until October so it does not clash with the Rugby World Cup.
The tournament, which will take place in England, will take place from 22 August – 27 September.
