It was quite a battle in the classic Calcutta Cup match between England and Scotland at Allianz Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Scotland have won the last four Calcutta Cup games but Saturday was England’s day.
Here are three key moments of the game that stood out during the Guinness Six Nations match in round three.
Event 1 – 1st Scotland try (Ben White)
Scotland were the first team to score through Ben White, when the defensive line was broken as Blaire Kinghorn ran through the gap. Tom Jordan then set up the try for some great hands by scrum half Ben White to score. Finn Russell missed the conversion and Scotland lead 5-0 after six minutes.
Quel début de match 🤯

Event 2 – 2nd Scotland try (Hugh Jones)
Duhan van der Merwe scored their second try of the afternoon after a lovely few phases through the Scottish player’s hands. England’s defence was tested massively here after Huw Jones burst through to advance the Scotland attack. A wonderful passing move from Scotland was then finished off by the creator, Huw Jones himself. Finn Russell’s second conversion drifted wide but Scotland still lead 10-7.
