Moana Pasifika produced a moment of absolute brilliance against the Western Force, scoring what feels like a try-of-the-season contender.
It all started just behind the 10-meter line, where Moana Pasifika gathered the restart and immediately opted for an attacking approach, booting the ball ahead. The chase was on, and Fine Inisi Taumoefolau showed tremendous pace and determination to reclaim possession for the visitors. His blistering speed saw him gain a couple of extra meters before delivering a well-timed offload on his inside.
From there, Moana Pasifika’s hands were electric, shifting the ball swiftly across to the left wing. As the touchline loomed, Danny Toala Havili displayed incredible composure, reading the play to perfection. With space closing fast, he expertly threaded a pinpoint grubber kick through the defensive line, a move that required precision and perfect weight on the ball.
Charging onto it at full speed was the ever-alert scrumhalf Jonathan Taumateine, who read the bounce beautifully and gathered the ball in stride before racing over to dot down in the corner.
This incredible try was a combination of lightning-quick decision-making, skilful execution, and sheer athleticism. The awareness to use the grubber at the right moment, coupled with the perfect chase and finishing touch, made it one of the best tries you will see.
