South Africa’s Blitzbokke secured a fifth consecutive Dubai 7s title last weekend as the 2023/24 HSBC SVNS series got underway.
Impi Visser and Shilton van Wyk’s early tries set the tone in the final as the Blitzbokke squared off with Argentina
Argentina’s Matías Osadczuk narrowed the gap to five points following a yellow card to Ryan Oosthuizen for a dangerous tackle.
Ultimately, there would be no further scores as the South Africans closed out a 12 – 7 victory to set themselves up perfectly for their home tournament in Cape Town this weekend.
Whilst there were no further scores, veteran Rosko Specman oh so nearly pulled off a spectacular finish in the corner.
Perhaps the only person not impressed with the speedster’s attempted finish was one of the field stewards.
With his back turned to the action, the steward felt the full force of the flying Specman!
