Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones named his squad for the 2023 Rugby Championship opening round against the Springboks.
Naming several new faces, the Wallabies of 2023 will look vastly different to those of 2022.
Yet, one area that will remain the same is the leadership of the squad as Jones unveiled experienced duo Michael Hooper and James Slipper as co-captains.
Joining Jones at the press conference, the two men were clearly enjoying their new coaches responses to the journalists’ line of questioning.
Asked by a journalist how they would decide who take the captaincy on any given day, Jones quipped, ‘We will decide at the morning coffee, maybe flip a coin.’
Jones was then asked about Queensland Reds star Fraser McReight possibly displacing Hooper in the starting line-up. Jones was quick to respond with, ‘Are you a Queenslander?’
Overall the press conference was brilliantly funny and reminds us all why Eddie Jones is so great for the game of Rugby.
