Incredible scenes are erupting all around Portugal as the national team arrives back in their home country to a rapturous welcome from fans.
These fans have watched their country take on some of the biggest rugby sides in the world and held their own, even coming away with victory over the world-famous flying Fijians.
The celebrations on the field were matched only by the hysteria off of it, with the Portuguese fans turning up in their thousands to support their team over in France as well as meeting them back home in Portugal.

Portugal initially booked their tickets to France following a 16-16 draw with the USA, an upset that shocked the 2031 hosts who had been thoroughly expecting to mark their own challenge in this tournament.
Portugal’s future in the world rugby standings will be watched closely by many fans from around the globe now, as they look to progress from this impressive feat and mimic the likes of Japan who have also grown into genuine tier 1 contenders.
