Joe Marler agrees to wild bet if Wales beat England

Joe Marler has agreed to a wild bet if Wales beat England this weekend.

England play Wales in the third round of the 2022 Six Nations this weekend. Both sides have a win, and a loss each so far. England lost 21-17 to Scotland in the opening round and then bounced back the following week with a comprehensive 33-0 win over Italy. Wales travelled to Dublin in the opening game of the tournament and were dealt with a 29-7 loss to Ireland. In Cardiff, a week later, Wales got their Six Nations back on track with a 20-17 win over Scotland. A Dan Biggar drop goal sealed the win in the 70th minute.

In a video posted to Twitter yesterday evening, Marler challenged actor and writer Steve Speirs to a wild bet. If England beat Wales, Marler “would love it” for Speirs to sing “Jerusalem”.

Marler asks “what’s that got to do with England? It’s in Israel”.

If Wales beat England however, Marler will sing either of the songs by Tom Jones “Delilah” or “Sexbomb”. Marler says “You choose Steve…tennis ball in your court”.

The outcome of the game (and most certainly the bet) will be an interesting one!
