It’s been 11 years since Ireland legend Brian O’Driscoll produced one of his most memorable moments off the pitch when he described Martin Johnson as a fruit salad.

During a pre-match press conference ahead of a Test match against England in 2009 O’Driscoll said: “Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.”
Post retirement O’Driscoll revealed on The Clare Balding Show that he won a bet with team-mate Gordon D’Arcy by inserting the random quote into the press conference. D’Arcy’s forfeit was quite something.
