Rassie Erasmus is very rarely out of the public eye nowadays, and it always seems to be controversial news when he’s in the spotlight.
With his Twitter feed being a constant force of intriguing content and devisive points of view, each post always generates a backlash.
Yesterday Erasmus posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between Eddie Jones and himself. The screenshot from last November showed Jones checking up on Erasmus following his 10-month ban from match day activities.
Enough said ! He is a man who has rugby in his heart ! pic.twitter.com/qwQ5iN0DBk

The screenshot shared by Erasmus was designed to show support for Jones following his sacking by the RFU, but many have not seen it this way.
One person commented:
“What exactly are you trying to achieve showing a personal conversation between coaches. Support the man in private. It’s like giving a gift to someone in need and recording it. Then telling the world “look at me, I’m a good person aren’t i?” Get off social media Rassie.“
While another slated Jones’ reign:
“Nobody’s untouchable Rassie. The results, the form, the performances weren’t there and haven’t been there for 2 years. He’s done incredible things for English Rugby but when it’s time to move on it’s time to move on.“
Others were more supportive of the coaches conversation however:
“Good to see you guys supporting each other, I think its needed. Hope they give you the ropes so you can improve state of rugby in the world Rassie“
