RWC Final: How the players reacted

Following South Africa’s 32-12 triumph over England in Saturday’s World Cup final in Japan, players from both sides took to social media to reflect on the game.

England went into the final as favourites according to various betting companies but the Springboks came up with a stunning performance in Yokohama.

Words can’t do justice to how I’m feeling right now. Biggest moment in my life and not even being able to get a chance to shoot my shot. Sport is cruel but we can never let adversity get the better of us. Want to thank everyone for their support, especially back home. We as a team will come back stronger. What a ride, what a journey. It’s been the most enjoyable experience in my rugby career. We didn’t get the end prize but what I have got is life long friends and memories. I thank you all for the constant support you give me and the team. I hope young girls and boys have turned up to local rugby clubs inspired by what we have shown.
