Reigning World Cup champions South Africa are in the midst of a brutally physical battle with Six Nations side Scotland.
In what is quite possibly the most intense fixture thus far in the tournament, the Boks currently lead 6 – 3 courtesy of two Manie Libbok penalties.
Despite holding the lead, it may well be Scotland who are the happier of the two sides as flyhalf Finn Russell landed a penalty on the stroke of half-time to get a foothold in the match.
Setting the gone for the match have been some supremely physical tackles and set piece contests as well as the odd scuffle.
One incident however is doing the rounds on social media.
Attempting to make a takcle, Springbok centre Jesse Kriel made contact with Scottish number eight Jack Dempsey.
Here is a clip of the ITV panel discussing the incident.
“It’s a red card” 🟥@johnbarc86 is adamant that Jesse Kriel should be seeing red for his contact on Jack Dempsey.#RWC2023 pic.twitter.com/LFBADtSt4J
