Springbok Prop Accused Of ‘Faking” Injury To Milk Penalty

Cell C Sharks and Springbok Prop Ox Nche has enjoyed a rather meteoric rise since making his international debut in 2018.

The 27-year-old is renowned for his powerful scrummaging and dynamic ability around the park as both a ball carrier and defender.

Yet, one incident will have put a slight dent in an otherwise impeccable resume.

Facing play-off rivals Benetton Rugby on Friday evening in a clash that would likely decide the all-important 8th position on the log. Nche looked to seek an extra advantage by milking a penalty.

Unfortunately for the burly prop, referee Ben Whitehouse had other ideas and instead turned the penalty against the Sharks.

Fortunately for Nche, the Sharks went on to record a crucial 43 – 33 bonus point victory to seal their place in the quarterfinals.
