WATCH: Huge Mata hit leaves Scarlets centre needing the physio

Edinburgh number eight Viliame Mata smashed Scarlets centre Steffan Hughes with a brutal hit in Saturday’s Pro 14 game at Parc y Scarlets.

The Fijian international lined up Hughes in awful conditions in Wales as he received an inside pass on the left hand side of the pitch.

The bone-crunching hit left Hughes seeking medical attention as one of the latest victims of Mata, who impressed on the international scene at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Mata, 28, mad his debut for Fiji in 2017 and has since made 13 appearances for his country. He also represented Fiji at 10 World Sevens Series tournaments and joined Edinburgh in 2016.
