Dupont and Kolbe magic comes agonisingly close to classic European try

Toulouse stars Antoine Dupont and Cheslin Kolbe combined during Saturday’s Champions Cup final to almost score one of the tries of the year.

French international Dupont made a break through the La Rochelle defence in the second half at Twickenham and with a cool head produced a beautiful cross-field kick to Kolbe on the wing.

The Springbok speedster showed patience to wait for the ball to bounce before gathering and charging towards the corner flag.

Kolbe dived spectacularly for the line but a last minute covering tackle from Geoffrey Doumayrou did just enough to take the South African into touch.
