There are many reasons we get into rugby; it could be the big hits, the sublime tries, the comradery, or even just the fact that your family happens to be rugby mad. The fact is though, once you’ve caught the rugby bug – you’re hooked.
For those that head down to the local rugby club on a Saturday afternoon or a Sunday morning, there’s always the huge anticipation surrounding the upcoming match. Whether playing or spectating, there’s always a buzz in the air as the game approaches.
For those pulling on the playing kit, there are always dreams of grandeur, wishing to pick up the ball from your own try line, zigzagging through the opposition team, and scoring the perfect match-winning try. It’s not just the try scoring that can live long in a player or spectator’s memory, however. A perfectly timed hit or a sweetly struck drop goal can be the subject of many a drunken conversation between teammates and fans for weeks, months, and depending on how good it was…years to come.
