Eddie Jones has been named new England coach, not long after committing to the Stormers in Cape Town. He has said that he was made an offer he couldn’t refuse, but realises how fans must be feeling right now. Here is a look at what he had to say before leaving for England.

Director of Rugby Gert Smal will now oversee the Stormers’ off-season programme, although Jones has said that he will be involved in some capacity next month.

Agreed, fair play to him for apologizing. It's a raw deal for the Stormers to have a find a coach now, in time for the next Super rugby season, but this can't have caught them completely by surprise. I hope though they got a bit of compensation from the RFU. I think a foreign coach would be no bad thing - they don't come cheap... but if they could get him, how about Robbie Deans?

Stuart Lancaster is probably looking for a job right about now?
