Solomona asks for TMO decision which gets himself sent off

Solomona asks for TMO decision which gets himself sent off

Former England winger Denny Solomona received a yellow card and conceded a penalty try for a high tackle during the Challenge Cup semi-finals on Saturday.

The Sale winger was defending a cross-field kick towards La Rochelle’s Vincent Rattez when a TMO decision ruled a high tackle and penalty try.

Having done a fantastic job to stop Rattez grounding the ball, it was Solomona who wanted the decision to go to the TMO. However this backfired when the footage showed the 25-year-old perform a ‘seatbelt’ tackle on the French winger.

Sale narrowly lost to the hosts 24-20 meaning the Challenge Cup final will be an all-French encounter between La Rochelle and Clermont.
