With laws being constantly adapted to protect players, especially from head injuries, many fear rugby has softened in some ways. However, one would be hard pressed to find anything soft in this short clip from Wales and Ireland’s Six Nations clash last weekend.

In just 30 seconds, we’re treated to several bone-jarring hits from some of the biggest names in the game. George North in particular, was looking brilliant as he scored two tries on the night and ran through Rob Kearney at almost full tilt.

Sean O’Brien, Justin Tipuric, and Robbie Henshaw also delivered some serious blows.

As we look forward to England vs Ireland this weekend, we should certainly expect another very physical encounter. England have their sights set on history and Ireland will look to play spoiler once again.

Meanwhile Wales head to France, both teams playing for a possible second place overall.

There's a whole lot of poor tackling technique on display...

Rob Kearney showing why he's consistently picked. A rock in defence against both wingers.

My sources tell me that due to the changes in modern rugby the old series cannot be continued, however fear not, a new series will replace it, it will be known as 'TSCCE' or 'Try Savers and Cous Cous Eaters'....

I'm wondering why anyone might take offence to anything you've written here.... For my money, this is a wonderful minute of entertainment - almost feels like a teaser for the LONG-awaited new installment of Try-Savers & Rib-Breakers!! I do agree that it's a big shame the old Welsh wizardry seems to have been consigned to the dustbin of history.

Damn that's not the rugby I like to watch... No offense to my Wlesh & Irish fellows, but seeing this I can't but regret the times when rugby was about running in spaces between players instead of trying to run over them. Especially the times when the Welsh were known for their wizard backs. North & Liam Williams are in my opinion players who would be even better in a team that plays wider and takes more risks. Just my opinion and again, no offense intended.
