Top 10 tries in Rugby World Cup history Posted by ITV Rugby World Cup on Monday, September 14, 2015

ITV, the host broadcaster for the 2015 Rugby World Cup in the UK, has put together this video featuring ten of the best ever tries scored at the tournament. While you’ve no doubt seen them all before, it’s a great collection and should get you in the mood for kickoff on Friday.

Do you agree with the selections, or would you change the order perhaps?

If you’re still unsure where or how you follow the tournament on TV, we’ve put together a handy little guide for you, How to Watch the Rugby World Cup 2015

I'm a massive fan of the underdog tries. These days NZ tries are all 'great' but there is an element of "meh, I expect them to be great anyway", which sadly sort of counts against them (on the scoring system of great tries)... But when you see an underdog like Japan for instance scoring against Wales, or USA against SA. I mean no disrespect but I class teams like Japan, US, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Argentina (not as much these days), as the underdogs, their heart is always there, but they perhaps haven't got the training set ups that the 'big' teams have. That first try by Argentina was really special to watch, I especially enjoyed the fact it came from sort of 'ship it on and hope' kind of play, rather than a well drilled backs manoeuvre! Like Eddie-g said, plenty of other good tries out there as well, but I suppose this is just one example of 10 of them. No two peoples list would ever be exactly the same. Great video.

Check the last two sentences in the description (might have been added after your comment): "If you're still unsure where or how you follow the tournament on TV, we've put together a handy little guide for you, How to Watch the Rugby World Cup 2015" If you're in England and prob other places, then there is ITV player online.

What a garbage list. NZ scored half a dozen coast to coast tries in 1995; Fiji, Tonga and Samoa have all scored sensational tries through the years (not just caucau's great score shown here), and if you must pull a random French effort from the vault, something from the 1999 semifinal is where to go look. So anyway, rant over I guess, but what a pathetic effort from itv.

Not even the best Argie try. But I'm not bitter!

I have no issue with the Lomu try at #1 (still one of my favourites all time and likely most memorable) but thought Robinson's counter against Wales in 2003 (with Greenwood finishing it off) might get a mention. http://youtu.be/qDKXCJ0Es70

The Japan and USA tries really show why you can't afford to miss any single one of the 48 games during the tournament.

Tuilagi vs Moody was during the Autumn Internationals a few years after... this was the match where England had 16 players on the field Brilliant try.

Agreed. That was awesome - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pODyQW85aNI The try had it all, including the ref falling over! In fact, that was an excellent match overall. Great tries and a variety of them including Phil Vickery sidestepping his way to a classic prop try. Lots of aggression, big hits, plenty of biff - this was the one where Alesana Tuilagi had a punch-up with his club teammate Lewis Moody after taking Cueto out in the air. But yeah, I think the early Samoa try was the cherry on the cake.
