Tongan centre Alipate Fatafehi put in this huge shot against the USA Eagles last week in the Pacific Nations Cup. A turnover ended up being a blessing in disguise for the big centre, who lined up Eagles scrumhalf Shalom Suniula and with a 30kg weight difference, smashed him.

While it might have been viewed as late, Fatafehi looked committed to the hit. There was then a nice touch after as he helped Suniula up and gave him a pat on the head for taking it so well.

We’ll have a recap of the final round of the Pacific Nations Cup shortly

Although to be fair, the US have a huge pool to pick from and with it being a very sports direction country, the diversity is bound to create very good athletes.. At school you have wrestling (which I guess would be good for grappling at rucks etc), American football (contact sport), football (helps with the modern game of faking injuries) and perhaps to top if off, they have that 'Murica attitude.. it'll only take you so far, but you'll make some noise in the process and get attention which really isn't a bad thing for getting support... Canada on the flip side are; in my experience, more humble people and there is a lot less of them...

But not for the reasons everyone predicted, that their athletes would overwhelm everyone. Sad to say that I think they are playing better rugby than us, decision-wise. I blame Brian spanton, the cdn commentator u just heard. He is painful to listen to,you'd think u were listening to a commentator from the 90's

Bah, not much in it. He was on one leg, and players tackled on one leg are always going to go flying when tackled.

US were always destined to get better.. I'm not sure whether they'll plateau for a few years, or maybe even just reach a ceiling, but they're bound to be big contenders in years to come..
