Crusaders winger Leicester Fainga’anuku scored one of the most remarkable tries you’re likely to see this year against the Chiefs on Saturday.
The 21-year-old received the ball on the Chiefs’ 22-metre-line and charged towards the corner in front of a raucous crowd at Orangetheory Stadium in Christchurch.
As Fainga’anuku approached the try line Chiefs full back Damian Mckenzie put in a thumping hit on the youngster, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the try.
The Crusaders winger some how produced an incredible acrobatic finish to dot the ball down with millimetres to spare, sending the commentary team wild in the first half.
This unbelievable try helped the Crusaders to a 39-17 win in round three of Super Rugby Aotearoa, maintaining their unbeaten start to the tournament. Full match highlights are available below:
