Six Nations Week Four Highlights Wrap

Week four of the Six Nations contained all the usual hype and drama that has become an integral part of the Championship, but on field there was less to cheer about as all three games failed to live up to the same standards we saw at the opening weekend.

Rather than clog up the homepage with separate posts for each match, we’ve archived the highlights and linked to them below, allowing you to pick and choose what you’d like to catch up on.

Scotland vs Wales – Highlights
Wales weren’t looking great coming into the tournament but have fought back to now have a very good chance of defending their Six Nations title. They beat Scotland at Murrayfield, but will need to call on all their experience when hosting England for the title decider next weekend.

Ireland vs France – Highlights
In a dour game that wasn’t helped by poor weather, France came from behind to snatch a draw and give themselves a chance of avoiding the wooden spoon, should they beat Scotland next weekend. The pressure on both Ireland and France coaches has intensified following this one.

England vs Italy – Highlights
Italy scored the only try of the game but it was England that held on for a crucial victory, keeping their Grand Slam ambitions on track. They travel to Cardiff next weekend for what will be a fascinating decider between two teams that will both expect to have a few players selected for Lions duty soon.

Agree with Aston and Heaslip, but have to disagree with Kearney..he has arguably been Ireland most consistent performer(in the backs anyway) throughout the championship, has yet to make a mistake..Adding to that, he is the best fielder of the ball at FB in the world probably and has set up a lot of good go forward ball when running kicks back, I'd say he should almost certainly go and at the moment I'd have him starting...

hard to see who's really putting their hands up for the Lions Test team on the basis of those 3 matches. Some big names going to be left behind in departures - Ashton, Heaslip, possibly Kearney ... Looks like being a pretty young squad too if it's going to be dominated by the English lads. BOD will be tour captain though.

Was @ Ireland v France match, dire performance all around, the French fans were booing Michelak with gusto...... both teams deserved to lose in my opinion... :O) One more game, remove Kidney and get back to the drawing board for Ireland with summer tour, with any luck get Mike Ruddock in as coach or Joe Schmidt and peak in time for next World Cup.....need to bed in some young talent, injuries aside we need to shape things up.
