While some of you are still getting over the shock announcement that League and Union will be merging in 2016 , we thought it would be a good time to check out some of the best tries scored recently in the French Top 14, with Round 22’s best tries compilation.
The standard for this round was pretty good as usual, with some great tries being scored. This compilation isn’t put together by RD, so bear in mind that the order is chosen by the tv channel, so you might not agree with them.
What it does make though is a great mix, with good tries all the way from ten to number one. Notable standouts would Nicolas Jeanjean’s for Brive against Stade Francais, Sam Gerber for Bayonne against Clermont, and Jean Bouilhou for Toulouse.
That Bouilhou try is a personal favourite as it featured Cedric Heymans at his sublime best as he sithed through the line following an excellent flick on. The vision to get his pass away was superb.
As always, the French commentators go off their head in the commentary box, adding to the excitement of one of the most entertaining leagues in world rugby. Enjoy the tries.
