Guinness Premiership Pick of the Week - Round 19

With a big weekend of rugby ahead, theres still time for a few more tries to get you in the mood. While weve covered the Top 14 and Super 14 with tries compilations, today you can check out the best tries from Round 19 of the Guinness Premiership in England.

There were some great tries scored all around the country and we kick off with Dominic Waldoucks effort for Wasps against London Irish, a match which they won 33-22, placing them in the tour four of the competition.

Mark Cueto scored for Sale as they beat relegation rivals Worcester 17-3 at Edgeley Park. Charlie Hodgson kicked 12 points as the win moved them six points clear of danger, with Worcester just two points away from Leeds at the bottom of the table.

Gloucester squeaked past Saracens at Kingsholm with a 29-28 win that produced some fantastic tries and running rugby in poor conditions. Fullback Freddie Burns was a excellent on the day as he kicked 19 points and put in a perfectly placed crosskick for the try by Charlie Sharples.

For Saracens, Brad Barritt and Alex Goode both finished off tries that came from brilliant build up play and handling. The passing for Barritts try was superb.

Harlequins beat Newcastle 23-14 at The Stoop as Nick Evans scored all the points for the home side with his two tries, two conversions, and three penalties. Alex Walker crossed for an excellent try for the visitors though.

Leicester stayed top of the table as they beat Bath convincingly at Welford Road. The 43-20 win came thanks to two tries by Alesana Tuilagi, a try each for Geoff Parling and Anthony Allen, and a penalty try. For Bath, Matt Banahan crossed after an excellent flick on from flyhalf Butch James, and Joe Maddock also scored.

Englands form fullback Ben Foden scored a nice try for Northampton as they beat Leeds Carnegie 14-7 at Headingly. Argentinean Prop Juan Francisco Gomez scored the try for Leeds.

The tries in this pick are of a really high standard and had to be shared. Enjoy, and apologies for the rather strange sounding ending to the song.

On a side note, thereve been plenty of requests for Tom Crofts huge hit on Olly Barkley at Welford Road. Unfortunately the match wasnt televised in its entirety, so its been pretty impossible to find a clip of the tackle. Keep the requests coming though, and enjoy the Heineken Cup, Super 14, Amlin Challenge Cup, and Guinness Premiership games this weekend.
