The U20 World Championship kicked off in Manchester yesterday with six matches played, featuring nail-biters, upsets and some sensational tries. If you missed the matches, and the results, you can catch up with all of them below.

We’re keeping this one spoiler free in case you weren’t able to catch everything. So dive in below and let us know who impressed you most individually, and which team you think will do well based purely on yesterday’s performances?

The next round of matches take place on Saturday with the biggest matchups being New Zealand vs Ireland, Argentina vs South Africa and England against rivals Scotland.

If for whatever reason you aren’t yet interested in the tournament, keep in mind that many current professional stars of the game came through this U20 format, more than 400 since 2008 in fact.

Players such as South Africa’s Handré Pollard and Jesse Kriel, New Zealand’s Beauden Barrett (whose brother Jordie now plays for NZ U20), Julian Savea and Aaron Smith, England’s George Ford and Owen Farrell, and Wales captain Sam Warburton.
